Even non-singers sing in chorus when people have gathered for celebrating a festival or in case of mass prayers. However, one must do riyaaz (practice) individually to become an expert professional singer where his/her individual talents have utmost importance. In a crowd, your individuality is lost and you have to sing to the common rhythm and tempo of the crowd – uniqueness there will sound odd and in fact can deteriorate the chorus performance.
This is about being able to sing in chorus as well as individually. When all individuals are expert singers, the group song of the chorus also acquires higher quality and is a treat to the ears. Thus here on planet Earth, you all are on an individual journey as well as a group journey – by evolving individually and by working hand-in-hands with one another – you evolve as a human species too.
Whereas current trend of individual gain at the cost of the group is a recipe for disaster. When the quality of the chorus song (human consciousness level) will deteriorate to a stage where it no longer seems possible to achieve coherence any more – the group will be dissolved.
Thus humanity has to value the integrated approach of success and evolution of self as well as that of society, locality, nation and Earth as a whole with perfect understanding of interdependence of each other to succeed as a human race.
Times are showing that humanity as a group is throwing out such out-of-sync melodies to the universe that universe will have to force measures to make them coherent or dissolve as the future demands.
You have got the freedom to choose ‘personal egoistic success at any cost’ or ‘success of individuals in perfect harmony with nature and all others’ – Vasudhaiv Kutumbikam – the whole universe is one great family made up of infinite numbers of unique individuals!
